Restoration of our Ecosystem
We humans, as the superior of all living things on Earth, have absolute control, and with that power comes the responsibility to care for all God-given things that rest on and call Earth their home. However, our own shortcomings endanger their very existence; as we strive to improve our lives, we fail to recognize that there are those who suffer as a result. Our desire for betterment and comfort is draining and sucking the life force from all of our flora and fauna. Keeping them from flourishing, gradually fading away until they cease to exist and are only recorded in our history books. Since all forms of life are important, now is the time to take up our responsibilities as stewards of God's creation. From biodiversity to the ecosystem, all must be protected from the effects of human activity.
Every year on June 5, World Environment Day is observed to raise awareness and generate action on a pressing environmental issue. The Day provides an opportunity to reflect on accomplishments and renew our commitment to overcoming the world's environmental challenges. Since 1974, World Environment Day has served as an important platform for promoting progress on the environmental dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals. Every year, governments, major corporations, non-governmental organizations, local communities, celebrities, and citizens around the world adopt the World Environment Day brand and participate in environmental celebrations. Ecosystems are geographical areas in which living and non-living things coexist and interact in order for both to thrive. Our ecosystem has a significant impact on the way we live. Ecosystems exist in a variety of regions and geographical settings on our planet, each with its own distinct characteristics. Ecosystems can exist in the forest, the desert, and even under the sea. Despite their diversity, our ecosystems all play an important role. We are currently engaged in activities such as deforestation, illegal logging, illegal mining, and dynamite fishing, to name a few. These factors are extremely harmful to our ecosystems because they destroy the very foundation of the ecosystem. Disrupting the continuous relationship among all organisms, causing great dilemma that results in habitat destruction, species being endangered, loss of biodiversity, extinction, and even climate change. With these being destroyed, we suffer huge consequences as we humans are directly responsible for the abnormalities in our ecosystem and life overall.
Life as we know it is beautiful and meaningful, on which we all rely and live. We should not deny others the right to live their lives fully, whether they are microbes or terrifying apex predators. It is our responsibility to assist, preserve, protect, and defend our ecosystems. It is teeming with diverse life forms that coexist with one another, forming mutual relationships that we all refer to as the circle of life. Humans benefit from this because they are also a part of life, and we are here to ensure that life continues. If we do not take action against the threats that threaten to rip the bonds that connect all life, our entire existence will be meaningless. Together, we can forge a stronger bond that will connect us to all life in order to help them grow and prosper so that we can have a brighter and more meaningful future.
