A payback to our Heroes!!

     Given the country's history, it is undeniable how important freedom is to Filipinos. As we commemorate the 124th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we are reminded of the greatness of those who gave their lives in exchange for our freedom. Blood for blood, one life for a million lives. Hand-to-hand combat with a sphere, a roaring soul, and empowered minds. They fought and conquered for our Inang Bayan. 
    This year, I am confident that our country will observe Independence Day in the same manner. Little efforts are acknowledged not only in government offices and public places, but also in schools, businesses, and even in our own homes. Placing a small flag of our country in our vehicles, homes, and other public places shows our participation and appreciation in the aforementioned celebration. Even in schools, students create a flag to represent their unity on this occasion. The country has such a rich history. Being voiceless and powerless as a result of years of colonization Nonetheless, these incredible Filipinos fought to reclaim their independence. The national heroes will undoubtedly not be forgotten. They displayed extraordinary bravery. That is why the 12th of June is so significant to Filipinos. Our country's heroes have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Until now, this freedom has been celebrated every year to remember their sacrifices and appreciate their hardships in order to secure the beloved Philippines' freedom.

 What a privilege and honor it is to be in this country. A home for the greatest warriors who fought for us. Every drop of blood that marked every island in our country's history. The breath of those who died for us, to save and spare our lives, to allow us to move freely and reclaim our democracy. It wasn't their responsibility to save us, but they did. They fought in various ways. Some fought with ink and paper, while others used heavy metals. They raised our country's flag, a symbol of our faith, honor, legacy, and freedom.

Kagitingan ng mga Pilipino

The story of the Fall of Bataan remains to be a devastating tale. But unlike The Shining or American Psycho, this is not a story ripped off of fiction books. It is a tragedy engraved in the dark pages of our history. The Day of Valour, also known as the Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorates the Filipino and American soldiers who stood up against Japanese forces during World War II.
