Protecting a Child’s Rights
Every child and young person's life in the Philippines had been interrupted by Covid-19, which has made our lives tough and full of struggles. During this time of pandemics, there are numerous risks that surround us, and children are the most vulnerable and defenseless to these dangers. Covid-19 took away these children's joyful childhoods, which makes me sad because they didn't get to experience the childhoods we experienced before the pandemic.
The highlight of this month's
celebration is on children's rights, and no one should be left behind while the
pandemic continues to unfold. For me, the majority of the kids lack the
necessary protection, and they are the most vulnerable in our situation. At
such a young age, adjusting to a new and unfamiliar way of life is tough.
Imagine being in their shoes, missing out on the fun you had with your friends
before the pandemic, and being stuck at home. If they didn't get to
experience everything that a child could, a part of their childhood
is missing, and this had an impact on their mental and physical health. One
of our most important responsibilities is to protect children and their rights.
Yes, I agree with this article, every child needs their own rights, and seeing them struggling during the pandemic also breaks my heart.
