Kagitingan ng mga Pilipino

The story of the Fall of Bataan remains to be a devastating tale. But unlike The Shining or American Psycho, this is not a story ripped off of fiction books. It is a tragedy engraved in the dark pages of our history. The Day of Valour, also known as the Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorates the Filipino and American soldiers who stood up against Japanese forces during World War II. This historic day commemorates the  valor of Filipino veterans and American allies who fought against the Japanese invasion in World War II, during which thousands of lives were lost defending the country's freedom and sovereignty. The "Fall of Bataan" is a constant reminder of Filipino bravery and patriotism. Normally, roads in various parts of the country are set aside for parades. During the Pandemic's Lenten Season

The Lenten Season, also known as Ash Wednesday, is a solemn religious observance in the Christian liturgical calendar. On Ash Wednesday, a traditionally solemn holiday, a church's priest or pastor will dip their finger into a tray of ashes and spread them in the shape of a cross on the foreheads of congregants. They will say, "from dust you came, and from dust you will return," while doing so. The ashes are made by burning palm branches from the previous year's Palm Sunday. Lent lasts 40 days, not including Sundays (that means the season is technically 46 days long). It is significant that it is 40 days. "The number 40 has always had special spiritual significance regarding preparation," says Father William Saunders of the Catholic Education Resource Center.
